In particular if you are a woman, you may be thinking of losing weight because after all people tend to think of us women wanting to lose weight more than men, because when it comes to appearance, many women do think that they have to lose weight when most times they don't they just have to eat more healthly, so to identify whether you really need to lose a few pounds then read on....
Consulting your doctor is one way of finding out whether you need to lose some weight as they will tell you according to your age and height etc what your ideal weight should be, but it's always worth actually looking at yourself in the mirror and seeing whether what you see is actually just what you want others to see instead as this can sometimes make people feel fat and depressed by not looking like the top model next door.

Losing weight can help prevent other things such a diabetes as people are more at risk of things like strokes and heart attacks if you carry on putting weight on instead of it coming off, women in particular are more concerned about their appearance than men, so it is quite natural that they would want to take action now rather than later to prevent any health issues becoming a problem later in life.
Many women who have chosen to lose weight have stuck to some really good weight loss plans that incorporate exercise and a healthy eating plan which combined make a reasonably good plan which makes them feel much better, but also loses weight over time, you could join a club with other fatties who have signed up to as this is what I did for awhile, although I wouldn't call myself fat, but me and my husband have both said we need to lose weight and so I've enjoyed going to the weight watchers club as I've met a few friends there for life.
